2,976 men, women and children lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. We are collecting a pair of shoes for each one of those lost lives to create Sacramento's Empty Shoes Memorial. Join us by donating a pair of new or gently used shoes at your nearest Salvation Army location. All shoes will be displayed with an American flag (as a tribute to those we lost) on Sunday, September 11th at Cal Expo. Shoes will then be donated to the Salvation Army as a thank you for their heroic efforts.

September 11th, 2001 was the darkest day in America's history. Join us as we remember the men, women and children who lost their lives. We will be honoring First Responders and their families with a special pancake breakfast provided by the Pride of Laguna Creek Lion's Club followed by a special patriotic program open to the public including a para-jumper bringing in an American flag, music and some very special stories about 9/11. View our Empty Shoe tribute and the 9/11 Memorial set-up on the Cal Expo grounds. The event and parking are free and we encourage parents to bring their children with them. Don't ever forget.
